A view of one of breathtaking places in Forbidden City, Beijing China. The Old Summer Palace, known in China as Yuan Ming Yuan (the Gardens of Perfect Brightness), and originally called the Imperial Gardens, was a complex of palaces and gardens in Beijing. Known for its extensive collection of garden and building architectures and other works of art (a popular name in China was the Garden of Gardens, simplified Chinese: 万园之园; traditional Chinese: 萬園之園; pinyin: wàn yuán zhī yuán). The more than 40 pavilions in the summer palace have covered almost all types of pavilions in Chinese architecture. The following threes are the best known. The pavilion of broad vistas at the eastern end of the seventeen arch bridge is the largest pavilion built in the garden.
