The Firuz Ağa Mosque (Turkish: Firuz Ağa Camii) is an old Ottoman Mosque in Sultanahmet Neighborhood of Fatih District, Şehr-i Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque was built in 1491 by Firuz Ağa, the head treasurer of Ottoman Sultan Bayezıd II. The marble sarcophagus of Firuz Ağa is located in the mosque complex. The historic building is located in the historical center of the city, on the Divanyolu Street just in front of the Tram Station of Sultanahmet, close to other prominent historical landmarks of the city, Blue Mosque (lately Sultanahmet Mosque), Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. The tomb of Firuz Ağa was pulled down by the command of Grand Vizier Keçecizade Fuat Pasha in the middle of the 19th century during the road widening construction. Today, the marble sarcophagus of Firuz Ağa is present in front of the wall where the minaret is located. Additionally and unfortunately, the cemetery of the mosque has completely been removed during road-widening construction.
