Time in Silivri and a view of one of nostalgic fishing boats on the way of Silivri Harbour in summertime: Fatoğlu Balıkçılık (Turkish: Silivri'de Zaman ve Silivri Limanı yolu üzerindeki nostaljik balıkçı teknelerinden birinin yaz mevsiminde görüntüsü: Fatoğlu Balıkçılık).
Silivri District, the ancient Greek Selymbria or Selybria (Greek: Σηλυ(μ)βρία, preserved its importance in every era of history thanks to its natural harbor and its position on the major commercial roads. It was a colony of Megara founded on a 56 m high, steeply hill east of the bay, but excavations show that it was a Thracian settlement before it was a colony.
